Kimani Wamatangi (born on 6 August 1965) is a Kenyan politician and the incumbent senator for Kiambu County. Although he is active in politics, he is also a businessperson.
In 2003, as a politician, he gained prominence in 2013, after he established his foundation – Paul Kimani Wamatangi. The foundation was started with the primary objective of bettering the lives of communities.
He achieved this through several projects and donations including donating water tanks. To date, the foundation has solved the problem of finding water by donating 21,000 tanks.

Early Life
He was born on Kimani Wamatangi is 6 August 1965 in Kenya to a middle-class family. Hailing from a humble background, growing up wasn’t a bed of roses for the senator.
He walked to school barefoot until he completed his primary school education.
He also shared that he did not own even one pair of trousers. However, he got one in the school uniform he used in his high school days. After school, he worked for a transport company as a bus driver.
Qualifications
He studied at St. Pauls University and obtaned a degree in Leadership and Management (2012 – 2013). In 1980, he attended Bombay University and finished in 1989.
Kimani obtained a Diploma at Tred. P. College (1983 – 1984). He obtained his K.C.S.E at Nyandarua High School (1978 – 1982). He attended and obtained his C.P.E at Kibiku Primary School ( 1972 – 1978).
Career
Political
He serves as the Senator for Kiambu County and started to carry out his senatorial responsibilities on 10 March 2013. He became a Coalition Member of the Jubilee Alliance Party on 13 February 2013.
On 8 February 2013, he became a member of The National Alliance (TNA). He was an Aspirant Senator for Kiambu of Republic of Kenya and started on 8 February 2013.
Non-political
He was the Chief Executive Officer of King Group Limited (2010 – 2012). He served as Managing Director of Auto Bass Limited (2004 – 2012).
From 2008, he worked as Director at Total Assurance until 2012. During the same time, he worked as Director of Kings Construction (2008 – 2012).
In 2010, he became the Director of Apex Security and worked until 2012. He was also the Director of Lub Plus Trading (2009 – 2012).
Personal Life
Kimani Wamatangi is married to a certified fashion designer Dorothy Jepkurui. His beautiful wife is a Kalejin woman. He is proud to reveal his beautiful wife and they’ve appeared together in notable events like campaigns among others.
Some sources have reported that the senator has been with an unidentified woman. They ended the relationship following irreconcilable differences.
Salary
In an interview session, the political juggernaut revealed that he receives a payment of Sh640 after deductions.
He revealed this on local television and claimed that the “little money” he made was spent on trying to improve the lives of people in his area.
The loans MPs take are deducted from their salaries. My payslip now reads Sh640 after deductions. If I did not have a business my children would live in a house but would not eat
